Introduction

We are seeking a software engineer to provide cloud DevOps support for zSCC development lifecycle.

• zSCC as a product has polyglot development environment with focus on Operators framework for microservices deployment. Microservice(s) are using more than on runtime. Java, Python, nodeJS, Javascript and GO { for operators} are part of development cycle.
• The role consists of reactive support in response to issues or customer cases on our zSCC/zSec offerings as well as pro-active support aligned with improving our overall Compliance posture.

Your role and responsibilities

• As a member of the DevOps team, you will be responsible for the monitoring and maintenance of zSCC CI/CD, Deployments, Maintenance of DevOps Infra.

• Strong overview of the infrastructure {z, z/Linux, zCX, LPAR} needed for driving development lifecycle of the zSCC offering. Managing the desired level of automation and setting up the fully automated CI/CD system.

• We are looking for candidates with strong diagnostic skills using industry standard tools and techniques, strong linux skills, and a proven background in cloud/OCP based operations.

• Established ability to diagnose the gap, recommend alternatives as well as architect OR Re-architect the existing DevOps implementation in the product development life cycle.

• Your daily tasks would include resolving alerts on our hosted deployments across various environments, responding to customer tickets, executing planned changes for the development systems.

• You would also be tasked with project work aimed at operational efficiency gains

Bachelor's Degree

Preferred education

Master's Degree

Required technical and professional expertise

• 8+ years of IT experience

• At least 2 – 3 years in Cloud/OCP/Z based environment oriented DevOps

• Experience administering Cloud deployments and/OR OCP based product development devops lifecycle

• Strong foundational knowledge of containerized deployments on Docker, Kubernetes, RedHat OpenShift and RedHat Enterprise Linux

• CI/CD, Scripting and automation skills. z/LPAR administration skills will be an added plus

• Working knowledge / Eperience of mapping DevSecOps to product development lifecycle.

• The candidate should have a passion for continuous improvement in building knowledge base both technically and professionally

Preferred technical and professional experience

• RHEL certifications would be an advantage as would knowledge of other DevOps tools

• Prior experience with Ansible Automation, Tekton and Observability frameworks

• Strong administrative skills and a good team player

• Knowledge of work[Practice/process] needed for proactive posture on key identified areas of product development cycle.
